Tuula Tuomi

Architect SAFA, Helsinki

I started at UKI in the fall of 2026, returning to the drawing board after a year of maternity leave. However, I’m already a longtime UKI employee, since earlier in my career as a newly graduated architect I had the opportunity to get to know the projects and the warm work community as a junior designer. It was a great pleasure to return to the firm. Along the way, I’ve worked on industry development projects at the Union of Architectural Firms as well as at a wide variety of design firms. For the last three years of my career, I worked as an architect in Switzerland, where German was my working language.

I love my work as an architect. I’m particularly drawn to large-scale projects, but I’ve also had the chance to be involved in many small and charming ones. As an architect, I have the most experience in conceptual and project design. As an employee, my strength is definitely in project management. I’m a tenacious workhorse and I thrive at work.

Outside of work, I’m a mom to the bravest little boy in the world and the wife of a structural engineer. My perfect weekend includes an indefinite morning coffee break, spending time together without a set schedule, a sauna, and delicious food.
