Housing cooperative Jyväskylän Kangas 1 & 2 is a complex of 139 apartments built for LähiTapiola by Skanska. The apartments are distributed in two buildings, one with eight floors and the other with three floors. The apartments are mainly one-room or two-room flats, but there are also three-room flats in the buildings.

The site is located in the old Kangas paper mill area in Jyväskylä in address Pergamenttitori 3. Respecting the industrial history of the area, the facades of the buildings have been designed to resonate to the red brick facade of the old paper mill. The new building joins the old paper mill facade, which has been preserved as original as possible. The meeting point of the old and new buildings in the facade has been emphasised, because it recounts the history of the buildings and the whole area.

The Kangas area is the most important urban development project in Jyväskylä with a plan to accommodate 5,000 residents and 2,100 jobs by 2040. The aim is to make Kangas a diverse town district with special emphasis on pedestrian and cycling facilities.
