1st prize in Siikaluoto public idea competition

UKI Arkkitehdit was awarded first prize in the Siikaluoto public idea competition arranged by Pietarsaari town and Componenta Oy.
The competition collected ideas for reusing an old industrial district inside the urban structure.

Competition entries were expected to present solutions for making the isolated area a structurally, functionally and logistically natural part of the town centre. The area has valuable cultural history and the aim is to make it a pleasant and active town district in the future.

The 25-hectare competition area is currently the largest single development area near the centre of Pietarsaari. Designing the area will continue on the basis of the winning entry.
