Uki Lahtinen shifts to UKI Arkkitehdit
Uki Lahtinen, an experienced urban planning architect, brings planning and land use expertise to UKI Arkkitehdit. The brand new member in the UKI team means more versatile service for our current and new clients, CEO of UKI Arkkitehdit Mikko Heikkinen guarantees.
“Uki Lahtinen is the complementary piece of our services that I’ve envisioned for years. He is an experienced professional in urban planning and land use, with good relationships and networks. Our values also match, as we both want to advance the same interests”, Mikko Heikkinen says.
“And the first name isn’t bad either”, he adds.
Uki Lahtinen will partner up with Sampo Ojala in Housing and land use-team. We are looking forward to working with the office’s both current and potential clients throughout Finland. The past 18 years Lahtinen has worked as a city planning architect for the city of Oulu.
“For the last five years, I’ve acted as a team leader and a manager. I had the itch for new opportunities and new things to do” Lahtinen comments on his decision to shift to UKI Arkkitehdit.
UKI Arkkitehdit speaks for the architecture of collaboration and the power of teamwork to achieve creative and functional solutions. It coincides with Uki Lahtinen’s mindset.
“I believe in conversation and collaboration as the guiding light of our processes. The best possible result is not achieved by dictating but collaborating with clients and partners.”
“The municipality side and land use construction projects are often very long and require many types of cooperation. That’s when connections come handy. At the same time, the ability to get along well with people is needed, which was one of my strengths according to my previous foreperson” Lahtinen adds.
Mikko Heikkinen says UKI Arkkitehdit has already recognized the benefits of getting closer to the decision-makers and both the land and property owners and developers. Later the office has progressed towards its goals and succeeded in regional planning competitions
We have gained credibility in the field of land use planning. And now, Lahtinen’s competence in land use planning is the perfect upgrade.

Uki Lahtinen is not stepping into a completely new world – prior to his career in public service, he worked in several architectural offices in Oulu and Oslo.
“City planning architect’s work is interesting, but this is a little different. Right now, I’m feeling extremely curious and enthusiastic” Lahtinen concludes.
