From wind power to architecture
In the beginning on January a new office manager Taru Kaarlela started working UKI Architects. Kaarlela, who has worked in several wind power companies in the past ten years jumped in a totally new world.
After six months she doesn’t regret the jump – quite the contrary.
”Everyone has warmly welcomed me. My colleagues are fun and professional, and the atmosphere is excellent. My tasks are very interesting and versatile”, she says.
Kaarlela is a Master of Arts with English Philology as her main subject. Her job description at UKI Architects include for example project resourcing, managing offers, development projects and marketing tasks.
“There are many stereotypical notions about architects and of course I had some expectations coming here. To be honest, I did smile when I saw certain kinds of eyeglasses and Marimekko clothes. The atmosphere here is indeed a bit bohemian and artistic, but I don’t mind that”, she laughs.
Kaarlela admits that the long history of UKI Architects makes one humble – as well as the long work experience of some architects in the office.
What would the new office manager like to do next?
“I wish to clarify and systematise the processes of our company a bit further”, Kaarlela answers.
