UKI’s career begins

The importance of professor architect Uki Heikkinen and his career to the birth of UKI Arkkitehdit Oy begins already from a time before the company was founded. Uki Heikkinen took a degree in architecture at the University of Technology in Helsinki in 1938. During his studies, Uki worked as a designer at the planning department of Kulutusosuuskuntien Keskusliitto (Central Union of Consumer Cooperatives) in Helsinki till 1945. Uki Heikkinen’s most significant design projects in late 1930s were the Munkkiniemi towers and private homes in Munkkiniemi in Helsinki.
