The first building phase in the Tampere University Hospital 2020 Renovation Program E building has been completed. The architectural planning for the renovation program is delivered by joint venture UKI Arkkitehdit Oy and Tähti-Set Oy. The E building inauguration took place on November 18th, 2015 and the building will be deployed during the latter part of the year.

Rakennusteollisuus RT ry has given the Laatuoivallus 2015 merit award to the Järvenpää hospital project, which was implemented with an alliance method. The award was addressed to project manager Jaakko Hakala and supervisor Esa Räsänen at NCC Rakennus Oy.

The International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) has granted TkL Esko Järvenpää the ”Anton Tedesko” award for his life’s work and commitment in structural engineering.

The website designed by Työmaa won silver in three categories in the American W3 Awards: Branding, Corporate Communications and Professional Services. The W3 Awards competition specialises in digital design and is arranged by the American Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts.

The new welfare centre, designed by UKI Arkkitehdit Oy, has been completed in Kontinkangas, Oulu. The starting point for the design project was the basic repair and functional renewal of the building, which enables cooperation between Oulu City and the private and third sectors.

Architect SAFA Janne Karjalainen has been appointed manager of the UKI Arkkitehdit Jyväskylä office on September 1st, 2015. His job description includes architectural and general design as well as leading and developing the office.

UKI Arkkitehdit was awarded first prize in the Siikaluoto public idea competition arranged by Pietarsaari town and Componenta Oy. The competition collected ideas for reusing an old industrial district inside the urban structure.

UKI Arkkitehdit serves as architectural specialist in the AGM Digihub project, started in 2012 and led by AGM Finland. The project studies and develops a new kind of concept for learning environments to be built in Asian cities.

UKI Arkkitehdit Oy and Metsä Fibre Oy have signed an agreement on the general and architectural design of the new Metsä Fibre bioproduct plant in Äänekoski.

UKI Arkkitehdit received an honorary mention in the architectural competition of Lapland Central Hospital expansion. The competition task was to design the second expansion to Lapland Central Hospital (39,000 m2 floor area) in a way that the result constitutes Lapland’s future hospital.

The Future Hospital program of Oulu University Hospital (OYS) has started. Tiernaryhmä specialist consortium has been chosen designer of the preparation phase in the first stage, children’s and women’s hospital. Tiernaryhmä consists of the following companies: A-Insinöörit Rakennuttaminen Oy, A-Insinöörit Suunnittelu Oy, Arkkitehtitoimisto Tähti-Set Oy, Arkkitehtitoimisto Lukkaroinen Oy, UKI Arkkitehdit Oy, Granlund Kuopio Oy, Granlund Tampere Oy and Projektipalvelu Prodeco Oy.

South Ostrobothnian Building Foundation has granted the 14th Builder Plaque to the Seinäjoki Polytechnic Frami F building, designed by UKI Arkkitehdit. The foundation states that the building has received a very imposing place in the middle of the Frami complex, where it can be compared with the surrounding buildings. The school building meets the expectations and has revealed something different and new in this riverbank area in an architectonic and bold way.
